That was a real high class comment he made. Inuendo without having to back it up with facts. Implying to readers that bad things were going on that we did not know about. Allen should not be implying negative things about anybody in the newspaper unless he can back it up so that we can make the decisions for ourselves. How can anybody defend themselves against that type of inuendo. Walker has shown nothing but class, but council members who are feeling heat are using inuendo to smear Walker's image.

Once again I wonder, why did they not tell people before the election that they wanted to get rid of Walker . Why didn't Allen at least meet with Walker. I am politically very conservative but I can not support people who deceive the public. This was obviously decided before the election. Allen obviously knew about it before the election. So if it was ok for Allen to get insider personel information before the election then why wasn't it ok for the voters to get the same information. He needs to be asked these questions in front of a microphone without being given several weeks to come up with an answer.

“I just didn’t think he was taking the city in the direction it needed to go.” Interesting, in as much as it was Council, not Doug who determined "direction."

Seems if it wasn't for Walker, the city wouldn't have gone anywhere. I recall quite clearly conversations I had, as manager of VM, with DEQ. After deciding what we could do with rain water run-off that was in violation before it hit the ground, the question was raised, what is wrong with your local government? Seems that the issue of sewage treatment was bubbling over at the time (no pun intended, I think). The point was made that if the city didn't respond to DEQ requirements, very bad / expensive things would happen. It is only now, 25 years later, that Walker worked out the financing to make the needed upgrades.

"taking the city in the right direction"???? My fear is growing that Mr Allen is no more than a useful idiot for the Gang of Two + one.
