The 18th annual Conservation Field Camp will be held at Grand Caverns in Grottoes on Saturday.

The field camp, sponsored by the Conservation Committee of the Virginia Region of the National Speleological Society, is oriented toward providing park staff with volunteer labor to preserve and restore natural resources found within the park.

Volunteers come annually from Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia and across the Commonwealth to take part.

Planned projects this year include trail maintenance and algae abatement in Grand Caverns and formation restoration in Fountain Cave and Grand Caverns.
