Branden Ore is no longer a member of the Virginia Tech football team, coach Frank Beamer announced in a statement this afternoon.
“During recent meetings with Branden Ore, we have decided that it would be best for Branden to pursue other opportunities,” Beamer said in the statement. “Branden has had many great moments here at Virginia Tech, and we wish him well in the future.”
No reason was given for Ore’s departure from the program.
Ore led Tech with 992 yards rushing and was second on the team in touchdowns with 10 in 2007.
He ran for 1,137 yards and 16 TDs in 2006.
