independent-america.jpgA free screening of the movie “Independent America” sponsored by the new grocery cooperative Valley Market is set for Tuesday, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Dixie Theater in Downtown Staunton.

The documentary tells the story of independent retailers trying to make it in the era of big-box retailers dominating the contemporary macroeconomy.

Those attending the screening will be entered for a chance to win a Downtown Staunton Gift Card courtesy the Staunton Downtown Development Association.

Donations collected at the event will benefit upcoming Valley Market community events and the Staunton Performing Arts Center.
