Change in command

Item by Chris Graham

It’s all in the family – as far as the new hire in the Staunton District office of Sixth District Congressman Bob Goodlatte is concerned.
Debbie Garrett will serve as Goodlatte’s Staunton District representative, the congressman announced today.
Garrett most recently served as a legislative aide to Rockbridge Republican Del. Ben Cline, who served on Goodlatte’s staff before leaving Capitol Hill to run for the 24th District seat in the Virginia House of Delegates in 2002.
Garrett replaces Sheila Jennings, who served in Goodlatte’s Staunton office for three years.
“Sheila has been an invaluable asset to my office for the last few years, and we are sad to lose her,” Goodlatte said. “At the same time, I am excited to have Debbie Garrett join our team as my new Staunton District representative. I am confident that Debbie’s Virginia roots and past experiences will be a great asset to my staff and the citizens of Virginia’s Sixth Congressional District.”

“Just went to the football game. And sat in the upper deck. And, you know, got fried,” I replied. Read more
